If you're trying to sell it for use on Verizon's own network in the US, why does it matter whether it's SIM locked?

If your buyer activates the phone on a VZW account and then wants to SIM-unlock it, they can call VZW support themselves.

Baseband unlock and SIM unlock are two different things. SIM unlock is more self-explanatory: It lets you use a SIM card from any carrier you choose.

For fairly obvious reasons, Verizon wants their customers to use SIM-unlocked phones only outside the U.S., rather than jumping ship to use their D2Gs on AT&T or T-mobile. Therefore the radio baseband, by default, is blocked from connecting to GSM/UMTS networks on the frequencies used by AT&T and T-mobile USA. Unlocking the baseband lets you use those carriers' networks, but only if your phone is also SIM-unlocked (and you use a valid SIM).

If you change the baseband firmware to a version that doesn't support SIM locking, sure.

But you can't; there's no such baseband firmware for the D2G.

Try online services. They get your IMEI and send you Unlock code. unlock4moto.com is a good one I personally use and it does that for $6. Based on my experience, phones with IMEI starting with 3536500 has more chance to get correct unlock code and ones with 3554940 has less chance!!!

what system version is on phone ie 2.4.33, 4.5.608, or 4.5.629?
is it sim unlocked?
[ROOT] Framaroot, a one-click application to root and [Video] Super Easy Droid X, Droid 2 Rooting app
works with these Motorola devices running android 2.3.4, Droid 2 (a955), Droid 2 Global (a956), R2D2 (a957), & Droid X (MB810)

I dont have an online account. Then pliz how to get a code with free, if not is there any flash tools or unlocker software.
When I insert a sim without adaptor and never ask a code but no signal; with adaptor get signal but somtimes no signal again unless the sim put change to other phone.
Android version: 4.0.4
Kernel version: 2.6.32.99-gb092e69
