Smile Recover to current devs
Just wanted to say, this is an awesome guide and needs to be stickied immediately, along with the addition to the title- Recover to current devs, and keep it updated for the n00bs.

Best guide to get kernels, roms, fix bootloops and get odin reset. GJ

Ok I found an updated version of Gapps that worked with my phone.

Only two other issues now.

1. I cant screen capture. Unless the feature is hidden somewhere that I am unaware of due to the screen animation from the power button

2. GPS doesnt hook up at all. Takes forever to find signal. It shows the route, but wont connect

Otherwise this is a great guide

Hey according to AOKP forums there is a new release as of yesterday

http://forum.aokp.co/page/releases/_/build-35-r21

should this be updated in your guides? And should we use this newer file now instead of the last 1?

Ok so ive been using build 35.1 for a little while now and have become happy with it Everything works so far to its full potential. Still waiting (at the time of this post) on the GPS to work. The signal in my bar shows that its blinking meaning it is trying to find a signal. So thats good so far. I will update once I confirm it working :0

This confounded me a bit as I followed these excellent instructions. The file I got from the third link is named cwm-recovery-ALL.tar rather than ...tar.md5. I'm going to continue onwards though after reading these remarks... thanks...

Section 6 confusion and failure
Samsung Fascinate stock 2.3.5

The third download link gave me "cwm-recovery-ALL.tar" rather than "CWM2.5_Voodoo.tar.md5" but I persevered... Everything went exactly as described up to and including booting into CM Recovery. The entry down one was "apply update from sdcard" rather than "Install zip from sdcard" but again I persevered, navigating down and pressing the power button. This however did nothing... Eventually I discovered the "home" softkey seemed to be functioning as "ok"; at least it took me to a list of files on my sd, with "su-2.3.6.1.x.zip" on top. I selected it as before, and got this:

Finding update
Opening update
Verifying update
Signature verification failed

... and I was returned to the menu to reboot.

So the installation of the CM recovery went fine but it seems to be of a different version and perhaps there is skew? Thank you in advance for more help.
