Default great Rom

just wanted to say thank you for this great Rom. Together with Motley kernel they're giving me a great user experience without any addition of third party launchers. The tab now runs very smooth! Great job. I'm not gonna pass to ICS until you'll release it with the new Overcome version.
Bye

Yeah it was exactly like that. But I'm now on the ICS rom and that one is running fine

You've to use ODIN for that one.

New to the Galzxy Tab 8.9 here...but not new to the world of custom ROM flashing.

Just curious - what are the patch files on the Overcome download page? Do I need those to install the latest Overcome ROM on my tablet?

There is a modem file, and patch files for email, calendar and launcher at the end of the downloads list...

Thanks!

The patches are (if you read closely the file name) if you want to replace the TouchWiz versions of those apps with the non-TouchWiz versions. I think (may be wrong on this one) that the modem one is optional for the 7300 owners (3G version of the tablet).

Got it...

I was wondering about the fact that this rom looked like a touchwiz Tom. Stuff like the settings and launcher were the biggest indicators to me. I am actually trying the AOKP ROM now but I did a nandroid backup of overcome and if I go back to it I will probably try the launcher patch.

I am not very accustomed to touchwiz since I have only owned a Xoom and an HP touchpad with AOKP ICS ROMs.

Thanks!

Yeah, TouchWiz is great part of what makes the tablet lag. Change the launcher and you're on your way to a smoother experience. When I was using Honeycomb (firmware LA3), my browser of choice (and still is) was ADWLauncher EX due to its hardware acceleration functions. Happy flashing!

Quick question.

Does anyone know how well this ROM plays with the desktop dock? I'm planning on using the Tab in my car as a replacement for my head unit and I need the audio to mute from the internal speaker once the Tab is docked. My Dell Streak 7 has an option to mute the internal speaker once it is docked but I can't seem to find anything similar on the Galaxy Tab...

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
