Default Flipboard vs Google Currents

Having used the much hyped Flipboard app since a week and the under estimated Google currents app for months, my comparison might approve biased.
The performance of the Flipboard app is far below satisfaction,I agree that further updates will improve that, but come'on man, the app is a major attraction feature of galaxy s3 and so needed to be more polished. It maybe that my 320x480 screen and lame processor might be the reason, but still Google Currents, too, wasn't made specifically for my device and it runs far more smoothly, duh.
The most annoying part is that many of the stories open in full site mode, not in magazine mode, unlike Google currents. The full view takes hours to open on a slow connection, so again Currents is the winner.

What do you think? Don't come yelling at me if you are a Flipboard fanboy and find something wrong in my post.

I'm a Flipboard fanboy and find everything wrong with your post!!1!

Just kidding.

Having used both, I have to say I don't see anything special on Flipboard other than the nice-looking animations it has. The clunkiness was probably your device though. Now, don't take it as if I'm bashing your phone or anything. I'm just saying... do remember it's being pushed first to a major device with impressively powerful specs to then start working with the lower-specced devices, as have others done before with other apps (I'm almost sure of this).

I do prefer Currents, though, for the same reasons you said. Full article is something I'd prefer as an option, like opening on the browser. Magazine style is much better for reading on phones.

I prefer Currents as a reading app because articles are more accessible, and it's much easier to navigate. In Currents, while you are reading an article from a subscribed source, you can conveniently tap an icon and there pops a list of other articles from the same source with headlines and snippets for you to check at a glance what is of interest to you. As for Flipboard, yes, the pictures are big and nice, but navigating within it is just so inefficient. I actually feel "isolated" in the app. I need to read quickly over lunch, so Flipboard is just not for me. Actually my favorite reading app is nether Currents nor Flipboard, it's Pulse News.

Yeah,I have used pulse too and see of it's features, like disabling image loading when not on wifi and it's interface are better than currents, btw flipboard home screen is the worst, wasting all the screen estate

Sent from my painfully slow connection, so consider pressing thanks to provide some relief

I have used both as well and updated Flip to 1.8.4 just two days ago.

The thing i like about flipboard...FB / Twitter integration...THAT'S IT

refresh is quite slow on flipboard...and what is up with just 4 pages?? Then you have to go and click more and view rest of your topics to choose from.not cool...

I like Currents...i like that it's true magazine style as even the fliping is left to right like reading a magazine rather than flipping from bottom..(flip style)...

Currents also seems to refresh quite quickly..if G DOGS can incorporate FB / Twitter / G+ in currents...that would be AWESOME....

Flipboard content seems limited. Maybe I haven't explored it enough. I too like that you can add your FB/Twitter feeds to it. I don't post much, so it works great for keeping up.

I currents, also.

Flipboard is more for tablets rather than phones. I think that Currents is better on a phone but on a tablet, nothing can beat Flipboard. I'm using it on my iPad 3 and it is amazing app. Just my 2¢

I have it on my iPad, too. I always thought it was limited. I hate that it just stops updating after a set number of pages.
