Using Zeus 6.20 with Battery Calibrator app. Currently still waiting for it to run down to zero after leaving it unplugged for the night while I slept, and after using it for 2.5 hours of 3g/wifi and music. Very pleased so far. Hope after the recharge, it maintains this kind of consistency. Though right now I have only Gmail and Whatsapp syncing...normally I would also have FB messenger.

Before was running stock 2.3.4, which had absolutely horrible battery life, literally 7-8 hours with maybe one hour of 3G usage and music, email sync and screen off the rest of the time. Also, the phone would get very hot on 3G surfing after about an hour. And these were not intensive sites, generally mobile version of sites (since I have a limited data plan).

I did a little experiment with my optimus black to see how long would battery last with minimum use. About my config:
I'm on Zeus 6.22 with JuiceDefender Ultimate. I configured a lot with JuiceDefender e.g. nightmode which automatically switches to airplane mode, sync is handled by JuiceDefender every 2 hours, wlan only, only 2G, auto display brightness (power saving). I did some calls and wrote some messages (normal and whatsapp), didn't play any game.
So far so good. The result was amazing: I was on battery for 6 days and had about 16% battery left!!! Look at the screen capture.

Damn.... 6days!!
That has got to be a new record! Amazing!

It will be the same as on other roms. If phone cpu and gpu is used extensively and battery capacity remain the same and display is turned on you will not see any difference. The thing I did here was to optimize the standbytime.

well as of now... i'm still using stock rom V20B... i was planning to root it and instaLL custom rom... i used to play everyday... 3-4 hours is the maximum batt. drainage on gaming... if i use custom rom, will it be the same? i mean the draining of battery?

i think the battery consumption will decrease when you install a custom rom, because of the other kernels and programs which stay on at the stock rom while you lock your phone. With stock LG roms i used to have battery from 7:00 till 18:00, at school, using wifi for half of the time, 4 hours of twittering and facebooking, an hour of gaming, and half an hour of music.

It sux on mostly ROMs :/
