from what I year about the newer HTC phones coming out and their boot partition being locked down even on s-off dev phones, I'm prod going to switch over the Samsung s3 or whatever is the top one available when it's time for me to switch that is the most "open" at the time with the best spects and reviews

FYI, if you got the evo 3d on release day, you can buy out your contract for $110 and upgrade at the $199 price. then just sell your evo on Craigslist for $150. Total price is now $160 for the evo lte. That's what I did.

I think im going to the evo 4g lte. I have an upgrade on one of my lines and I think the 3vo is a bit gimicky. I like it, don't get me wrong, but I think its time is passing on us already.

I happen to think there is plenty of life in the 3d The network is really the only thing holding it back. Once nv is rolled out and if it helps to bring 3g speed up as well like it is supposed to, along with ics she'll be good for a while.

Don't get your hopes up. They upgrade all three towers around my house within the last 6 months to NV. Before the upgrade, I would pretty much max out at 100kbps during the day. Now I get about 600kbps. An improvement, yes, however it's still to slow to do the things I want to with my phone, i.e. stream video and watch youtube.

I'm still deciding on what my next device will be. Right now my Evo 3D is bricked so I'm using my old Palm Pre, so I really need a new phone. I'm going to either get the Evo LTE and keep my contract or I'm going to get the unlocked Galaxy Nexus off the Play store and go with tmobile. They'll end up costing me about the same so I just have to decide what shenanigans I want to deal with. Right now I'm leaning towards the Nexus since I would get off of Sprint's network and I'd be able to run pure Android without hacking my phone. Running AOKP on my Evo 3D was glorious for the short time I got to run it, so I'd like to be able to stick to a pure Android experience.

I've only bought the 3D EVO a couple of months ago and I cannot really justify spending more money on another phone, but I have to admit that I like the look of the Asus Padfone with the docking tablet and the docking keyboard. 3 in 1 seems like a cool idea...but I will wait for a few reviews before I commit to spending that sort of money
