Xev, thanks for your work on the Verizon Trophy. I don't think that many people are using it or using custom roms, but it is still a great device and better with the custom roms.
To clarify this, "If you want your phone to have current software after returning to stock, run Zune update." You mean the latest official software correct? The way I understand it, if you want to go back to stock, you install the OPSL, then this rom, "RUU_Spark_W_VERIZON_WWE_1.03.605.22_RS0512_2K_4K_ h ybrid_new_partition_RELEASE", then run the Zune update process. Is this all correct?
I am still running the DFT rom but may try the Tango rom sometime. I just hate having to redo my phone after an install. Sure wish it was as easy as WebOS.
Yes, even though newer stock roms are available and will accept Zune updates, if you get a new stock SPL driver update and it overrides the SPL of that rom, it will half brick your device.
This proves true for the oldest NoDo rom too, but since you get more then one driver/SPL update in the processes, it auto fixes itself like some have done on other devices (meaning, waiting it out for a new driver update for SPL to fix a half brick), so during the update process, the device half bricks itself, then unhalf bricks itself with another update during the entire process.
If you want to use a newer stock rom, I highly recommend flashing it using GoldCard method to avoid the halfbrick (but.... don't I use GoldCard to fix the halfbrick??? AWWW the irony).

Just make sure your phone is fully programmed and has service before flashing ANY rom using Cotulla/DFT fullunlock. If you factory reset then attempt to program, it will mess stuff up. You can still do PRL updates with *228 option 2, but avoid reprogramming from scratch without a stock rom (or a HSPL version of a stock rom like the ones I posted in this thread).
I'm still working on my own rom, I am going to see if Ultrashot unlock fixes our programming issues, and if so, I'll talk to him about getting permission to use unlock is a publicly released rom. Time has been the killer for me lately... and not having a decent backup phone. With my Vouge or Touch Pro 2 could be used on this service package -_-

If I'm just running the most updated stock Verizon stuff, it should be all right then, correct? I've got service and everything is programmed. Or are you talking about when I downgrade the SPL?
I am dumb, I did *228 and option 1, it seems to accept programming but I can no longer make calls, text and data do work. So far I've tried installing RUU 1.03.605.22 after running OSPL and updating through Zune and I still seem to have programming problems. I saw further back in the thread that you can activate a different phone and then activate the trophy and that will fix it, but I don't have another phone to activate.

Is there any other way to fix my issue?
That is only part of it. Yes, after flashing a stock(or stock like rom like my HSPL roms here) rom without full unlock installed into it, you can program the phone properly (updating the rom is completely unnecessary).
From my experience, there is ANOTHER way, but activating a different phone is far FAR easier... Do a factory reset on your phone running a factory (or factory like) rom.. THAT STEP IS KEY, doing a factory reset with the factory rom. THEN, since you do not have a different phone.... leave the phone completely turned off for one-two days (yes, I did just say that), THEN attempt to program it (this is why I recommend activating a different phone because it clears up whatever weirdness is going on on Verizon's end). Otherwise, find a different phone that you can activate. :/
And data may work for awhile without the auth key, but I've had my data cut out after 30mins or so of this "Crushing" situation. SMS doesn't work correctly at all. It might act like it, and you will get incoming text, but you shouldn't be able to send SMS and actually have people receive them (mine didn't pop up as failing).

Thank you for your help, I need to update you on the weirdness that I experienced by factory resetting a dft rom. Once I was in an extended area I was able to make calls fine. Also people were receiving texts from me and data is still working. I eventually got a message while attempting to make a call that said to dial #8899 so I did that and a Verizon tech walked me through manually programming the phone. I haven't had much time to use it but so far so good.
TheXev- Thank you for the quick response and for sharing your knowledge!

Interesting, I'd love to know what stuff they had you manually program. I was assuming that the biggest thing was a lack of an authentication key (I know its blank when you look at it on a fully programmed phone, so the error message was more of me guessing that this was the key problem), but where there other things missing that needed to be filled in?

I would agree with you. With the lack of a few backup features that work consistently, the downtime is something I have difficulty dealing with during my work week (and my only other backup phone that is compatible with my phone plan is my HTC Eris who's speaker randomly decides not to work).
