This is what i need since i used odex rom because it save more battery then custom rom.

Help needed to understand Install on CWM

Hi,

I am on stock 2.3.6 (At&T Version) + Rooted. I installed A2 Bootstrap Recovery and I can get into CWM using that.

In OP I see below steps mentioned, can some one shed light for my understanding.

-(Optional, but recommended) Install CWM on Boot
-(Optional, but recommended) Make a CWM backup

Do we have something available as "CWM on Boot" other than what it comes on Bootstrap? If so where do i get this. ( I read some posts saying as once we have this we may not need A2 Bootstrap ). So just want to make sure about this.

Sorry if my question is too newbie type.

Yes. The CWM on Boot package (which is completely separate from the bootstrapper app) for the RZR works on our phone. See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1385283.

And, correct, the A2 Bootstrap app will install the bootstrap, then after you run it you may remove it. Thanks to cainn24 for clarifying that for me

That helps for sure. So once we have this CWM installed via bootstrap our phone always boot into recovery and we need select reboot from there to get into home screen? correct?

Will post back with results once I am done with this installation.

Installed the CWM on Boot and installed this Mod.

All went smoothly, and Now I do have all sweetness.

One Question, what's the last item on pull-down toggle (after Mobile data)? I couldn't figure out what its toggling.

What is this file for?
And how to disable unlock using menu key?

LOL.. That's ok.. The dexopt-wrapper is just a file (had to zip it due to posting restrictions) that lets you create new odex files on your phone. I had to use it to make these mods, and I just wanted to share in case someone else wants to go down the path of modding odex files.

And, the menu button should open the lockscreen in v2.2 - you don't have to do anything but flash the monster

Edit: Wait, sorry I didn't read your post carefully - you want to return the lockscreen to open by sliding only - as it was? Well, either you could decompile framework-res yourself and make the xml edit, or I would have to make another one.. You know you don't have to open it by touching the menu key - you can still slide it if you want...
