there is a rom called paranoid android for galaxy nexus that has a feature with per app dpi. I tried to port the rom a couple weeks ago, everything work except the keyboard. I do remember that there were issues with the keyboard needing to be set to 192 and tablet mode for e4gt had to be at 128. I was able to set dpi settings to different apps in the build.prop file. Since I couldnt get a working keyboard, I had to odin back so I can sign into gmail.

What's the trick to getting your PC to open the SD and External SD (USB Debugging) or Phone and Card (MTP)? I've read through this thread and the ROM thread but I didn't see it mentioned. I've got Directory Bind and USB Switcher installed and setup as per the tips in the threads, but I still can't get my computer to access my external card. The best I can do, is get access to the internal SD Card using the USB Debugging settings included in the ROM.

I use multi mount SD Card. It's kind of buggy, but it works. I have to replace the widget on home screen every time to mount it, but no biggie.

Thanks...I figured that when I couldn't find an ICS recovery in most kernels. I just couldn't find anywhere people had actually said that.
Is the missing external SD problem an issue within any AOSP/AOKP ROM? I've been running this ROM since day two of it's release and I like everything about it. The aesthetics and functionality of my phone have increased greatly. The only issue I'm having is that my external SD card doesn't show up when I plug my phone into my PC. I can access everything on my phone and external SD card from within the phone using ES File Explorer.
junkmayn suggested I use Multi-mount SD Card and I can get it to work sometimes. But is there a way to make the connection more consistent or maybe done natively within the ROM?

This ROM is awesome!! I only have 2 problems.
1 - Voicemail icon would not go away. Installed the one posted in tips and tricks and now it is gone.
2 - I have 2 lock screens. How do I get rid of the one with the japanese letters? I have looked everywhere and cant seem to find how to remove it.
Besides that, this rom is great. I love it!
**EDIT** One more thing, how do I get rid of the sound it makes when I type? I have looked all over the place for this as well. Driving me nuts.

Hmmm, first let me say your name is is appropriate... Now on to replying and attempting to be "nice" as I do it... Because you did not only notice that I'm a Recognized Developer on this site but I'm also a Moderator for XDA and represent XDA. First, where's the logcat (do you know what that is?) to prove google search.apk (as you put it) doesn't install (we developers appreciate those logcats btw so we can fix REAL issues. Startup tweaks?? Like what???? They're buggy? REALLY?? You say this even though the rom is built on a yet to be released REAL OTA??? How would you suggest I fix those "tweaks" or "buggy" things? Apparently you know, and you are with withholding the information... Thanks A LOT, we really don't appreciate sneaky stuff here, we like to SHARE, thats why android is OPEN SOURCE. I didn't even build launcher pro or put it in the rom (which leads me to believe you didn't even really flash the ro, but I digress). Heck LP isn't even built for the android ICS platform... Why don't you go complain to the DEVELOPER of LP about that?

You should snoop around XDA before you go replying in threads about things you apparently do not understand or may be confused about. In addition you should read the links in my siganature and learn what proper etiquette is and what Developors here on XDA actually represent (I'm sure you will bypass reading the rules but that will even shorten your stay at XDA further if you don't bother to read especially the rules).
XDA is about DEVELOPING. Not what YOU think needs work... we do this for FREE... to GIVE BACK. So in the future (which from the looks of it could be short here) I suggest don't post in a thread to babble and get your post count up. The next developer my not be as nice as me and give you all this free advice...
