Lol so you mean a nandroid backup...
We are both right in a different context.
You cannot unzip a stock Xperia Arc ftf file and get the system apps.
Well you can unxip it but you get .sin files and .ta files
Which then afaik cannot be unzipped

hi,

i have extracted the textinput apk.... am running a custom ROM now.
how can i install the stock keyboard?

set the permissions as specified and reboot.
yet, do not see the xperia keyboard
