Default Og evo 4g ics vs evo 4g lte

Okay, so EVO 3D is expected to receive ICS update in June if I recall. I am assuming that this is the break we have all been waiting for, an updated kernel that supports Wimax for ICS. Will Devs be able to transfer this ICS goodness over to the OG phone? Does this mean that us OG EVO users will be able to have some new life breathed into our phones?
I really want the new EVO 4G LTE, but LTE is not coming to my area (Sacramento) for a while. I get great Wimax coverage and don't want to give that up. I listen to the radio on my phone all day at work and tether my tablet with streaming video. It's great. But did I mention I really want the new EVO 4G LTE? LOL. The camera looks awesome, and we are all due for some new hardware. That being said, I can probably wait a little while longer if it can get an ICS rom on my OG EVO if it supports Wimax.

What say you?

I agree. The specs may be beefed up on the new EVO LTE but when it comes down to just pure functionality you would probably get more out of the OG EVO. Especially when it comes to 4G/Wimax and Dev support. I mean who knows when that beast will get unlocked and rooted. Also another thing that a user brought up what the fact that the battery is sealed in. Basically meaning NO BATTERY PULLS! So could this mean more pricked phones? I mean a battery pull can be your best friend and get you out of the screwed up state. What has HTC employeed that could replace that? Makes me very nervious about ROM swapping on the LTE

Don't get me wrong, Wimax is not the greatest. I hate it when I have to turn it off just because a web page will not load. I read that that was a network problem. On the other hand, when it does work I get 5mbps. 3hG only get 800kbps. Big jump. Also, there is a benefit in having two networks. Sometimes I get Wimax when 3g is unavailable. I can also use Wimax and the phone at the same time... damn I want the new EVO though.
Yea I had to do a battery pull or two. Hopefully EVOLTE will be easily rooted.

Cross my fingers Devs can build an compatible ICS kernal with Wimax support when EVO 3D gets updated

I think i read somewhere that there will be a button sequence that will accomplish the same thing as a battery pull, just as on the iphone and ipods.

Hold the power button ~10sec.
Found on Pg13 of the leaked user manual.
