I did all the 100% max brightness stuff for a few cycles but it's still flickering, especially with grey background/pictures!

Is it better then before?

And confirm your software version is 1.29.401.11

perhaps some phone take longer, and did you have it unplugged from charging after a full charge cycle?

Default After several days the flickering is gone

My flickering, especially on gray backgrounds, has steadily decreased to the point now where I don't see it anymore. The patch worked.

I had the same, and made the decision that the update didn't work, BUT, after +- 4 days full brightness and couple reboots, The screen flicker = COMPLETELY GONE!

I think HTC has build in an auto calibration, for the screens. because the screens does not seem to work on one static setting.
My Phone history..

I never had any particular screen flicker issue, only when I put the screen on minimum brightness it would flicker a tiny bit, barely noticeable but now it has definitely gone.

is the flickering problem exist only on first few batches or even the newest ones off the production line (manufactured in late Apr or May) also has this problem?

the flickering problem is the only thing holding me back from purchasing an HOX now.
