I see everyone is in the same boat. I'm gettinga DVP that I won through a contest. Once I get it, Ill see if I can't help with the registry and try to bypass the certs. I do need a few things though.
-The system dump that everyones been going on about
-the custom certs your trying to use
-Hopefully, a DVP emulator exists? theres one for android so maybe for WP?

and the last thing I can provide for myself. Several gallons of vodka. When I drink, I focus more. So yeah, I f get those I can start within the next couple of days when I get a day off.

Nosker, you should be able to answer this. Is there anyway to open a new port and add it to the boot list in the first position, add a fille that over looks security but still allows access to the certs, and run an unlocker that forces the system to overlook everything other then what you add to it? I know it sounds like a long shot but it sounds plausible in the fact that opening a new port could create an injection point which is still one step closer to achieving a custom rom.

Maybe we can contact Dell with request to unlock boot loader, since this device is not selling by Dell anymore.

I don't think Dell would do that, it's worth a shot though!

Did any other WP7 device allow you to officially unlock their bootloaders?

Dell devices in general arnt locked at all to begin with, the only exception is the VP as every other device runs android and it's not a requirement to license android.

But are they legally allowed to fulfill that request for WP7?

I figured out how to access the SD Card as an External without removing it. Hopefully, within the next couple of days I can copy all the files and I'll put them up for everyone to use.

If someone wants to do it since I'm working the next couple of days,
1. open regeditor
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumUSB
3. Find ZuneDriver: should yield HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumUSBVI D_045E&PID_04EC&MI_006&27ffd631&0&0000DeviceParame tersWUDF
4. Go up one level to Device Parameters key
5. Change "ShowInShell" from 0 to 1
6. Change "PortableDeviceNameSpaceExcludeFromShell" from 1 to 0
7. Change "EnableLegacySupport" from 0 to 1
8. Change "EnableDefaultAutoPlaySupport" should be from 0 to 1. I dont remember. If its already at 1 change it to 0. If it says true or false change it to the other.

When you connect it it should brnig up the little window asking how you want to view the files.

If this yeilds all the files, then we should be able to reuse the dell certs to avoid corruptions or bricking.

Edit: Did it this morning but something is missing. It did prevent zune from opening, which is a start but it didnt allow access to the sd card. I'll be looking a little deeper tonight.

It shouldn't be that the files are locked, per se as, it should be the certs preventing access. There should be a whitelist cert present preventing changes.
