You have to go on the Swype website and register.

I've used it on cm7, cm9, miui, and any other custom rom I've tried. Works just fine.

Since I started this topic, Swype has really grown on me. I can see the draw now.

For those who can run Swype and prefer Flex T9, why? Amazon says Flex T9 hasn't been updated in over a year, but Google Play says it was updated in January. I own it via Amazon (FAD) so I guess I'm running an outdated version. Still, Swype wouldn't run well on my first Android phone, and Flex T9 was about the best thing for it (though the trace method ran up its RAM too fast). Now that I can run Swype, I'm not seeing the draw to Flex T9. Though I just reinstalled it again for nostalgia purposes, maybe it won't bug me as much as Swype. I've turned off the nags in Swype, though, but it still does a couple things wrong.

Seems like if Swype could learn/predict, it would be the best one. SwiftKey X just bugs me for some reason, but I own it (also via Amazon FAD) and SwiftKey 3 is going to be a free update, so I'm keeping an eye on it.

Agreed! I've tried just about all of the keyboards and I like this one the best. I especially like that I can create shortcuts ("omh" = on my way home, "pjl" = plane just landed, etc.). It saves me SO much time!

I like Swiftkey for it's prediction accuracy but I HATE that I can't create my own shortcuts like I can with A.I.Type. If shortcuts get added to SwiftKey, I think it would be the ULTIMATE keyboard. Many people have begged for this feature but nothing has been done yet, unfortunately!

Hackers keyboard. Dedicated number row and arrow keys are the best combo imo

i love touchpal keyboard for its dark theme and swype like ebility.... i keep trying to swype on everything now lol..... crazy i catch myself always doing it.... but i dont like swype for its basic white theme that you cannot change..... touchpal has a few skins...i just use night pack. i love dark themes especially those with blue in em. is there a better keyboard for me? swype ability, dark themes, more accurate than touchpal?

I have to updte my suggestion. I swithed to. A.I.type keyboard and am using the wp7 keyboard. It works fantastic! I like that I can resize it with the touch of a button and it has a number row above the keyboard. Additionally I trype extremely fast an some keyboards have a hard time keeping up (swiftkey x).

It is free from the market so give it a try. What can it hurt?
