Is this normal for the first times? when will it settle?
thanks
The first charge cycles are normal like that. My battery was the same way. Give it about 2 weeks, you may be surprised.

About the alarm, I learned the bad way: due the phone run a LOT of thing during boot, it does not have capability to turn on itself, even less turn the alarm on. I guess you are coming from a feature phone.

2 weeks or a month for the battery to settle is a joke.
When you first buy a phone you use it 24/24 then after one month you get bored little and you use it less, that's why the battery improve, not because it settled down.

I'm still having a bad battery life, just 10min talking, 10 whatsup messages and browsing xda, display level at 25%.

the real thing I would like to see with half the people ranting how crap their battery life is the actual screen on time.

The post above for example, if your screen use is 73% you must have had the screen on for 3-4 hours correct?

Yes maybe 3-4 hours so what??
Should I buy a smartphone to keep it off or to use it just for calls???

with a 4.3 inch display, you will always be tied to how long your display is actually on for.
It isn't just Sony.

Now that said, some guys with the N/A One X are getting 30+hrs with 2/1-2 to 3hrs of display time. With tweaks they are getting 5-6 hrs display and 16hrs of battery.
Now HTC worked a lot with that battery to get the most out of it, AND they are running ICS.

When I run Juice Defender I can easily get 32 hrs out of moderate usage.

This is wo jd running.

I think both are true actually. The batteries do take a while to 'bed in', 'settle down' or whatever you want to say - but that's more to do with the chip inside the battery measuring the charge more accurately over time.

But, you're absolutely right that using it less after a while helps reduce the load on the battery - so when both aspects are combined, you might appear to see a big performance boost.

A battery should only take 5-6 charge cycles though, not two weeks or a month.

Third charge is still the beginning. My battery started to get a decent life after about 1 week and a half.

About alarm, as far as I know, no Android can turn on by itself. I said a feature phone because, one year ago, I had one and bought a Xperia X10 Mini Pro, and it did not turn on. I almost got late for school that day.
