And it's pretty strange to buy WP phone just to port Android OS on it.
If the sensation XL is a hardware clone, you would think that makes it much easier to procure drivers... It would be a place to start at the very least.

I have a titan en route and plan to look into this. I believe it has the Qualcomm bootloader which should make it easy.

Nokia/WP7: Unmatched Quality.

To AndrewSh
I think a Custom Rom does not mean to only to Port Android to Windows phone. Porting Android to Windows Phone would be cool but a Custom Rom gives you plenty of other options is not jut porting Android. (Correct me If I am wrong)

Also some of us we cannot just buy any phone we want any time. Sometimes you get what you can get. Phones are expensive. Still if you have the opportunity to install a custom ROM or improve the options the phone gives you, why not? In my case I got a Titan via Windows Challenge, it was the only option they had available. It is not an option for me to spend now hundreds of dollars on a lets say a new Sensation XL. I have the feeling that there is a few people in my situation.

andres22, kinda misunderstanding? Maybe because of my poor English?
I did not say anything against custom WP roms for Titan. I was just curious why people start to talk about Android port in the topic dedicated to reward for the first custom WP rom and HSPL.
Just to clarify my attitude to stock and custom roms - see my sig. I always use ONLY my own (self-cooked) roms on all my devices (except Titan for now).
Whenever HSPL appears - I will straight flash my own rom to my Titan.

But the desperate wish to install improper OS - is always strange to me....

Current devices:
HTC Titan - My own custom WP7.8 - 7.10.8862.144
HTC 7 Mozart - My own custom WP7.8 - 7.10.8862.144
HD2 TMOUS - My own custom WM 6.5.3 - OS 5.2.29128.5.3.12.16
.
Still support Asus P525

Dual booting multiple OS is power and flexibility. I for one would like to have that back again, being used to it with the HD2.

Honestly, I think I'd do this if not for the fact that someone would take my work and toss android on it. Really don't want a windows phone device so victimized.

Hi Andrewsh,

Sorry man you are right we are on the same page regarding custom Roms for WP. English is not my first language either. Hopefully someone can figure out a way to make this happen.

Thumbs up I can contribute 70 bucks (Paypal-"donateable")

Making it a nice round 900, if the post on the original page has the math correctly.

Would be pretty cool to be able to dual boot, but I would be happy with having a custom ROM (interop unlock would be awesome too).

Best,

Daniel

I am tired of ANDROID operating system sneaking into every conversation about custom roms in windows phone threads! Are we not all here because we want to improve windows phone, this thread is about the need for custom windows phone 7 roms! Is there a moderator who can possibly institute a new rule about this android nonsense? I have no desire to run android on my windows phone and am fully invested in the windows ecosystem, am I the only else here who feels this way?

Really? I am tired of people making nonconstructive posts in what is supposed to be a forum for developers, hackers and their fans.
