Again, not trying to slight anyone here, we were all beginners at one time, don't lose hope and keep at it newcomers!

Dimebag,
If u do this method you should get a hold of a camera and post up a video for those that need it.

I read over the other touch issue, but this one seems different. I can use touch screen every where else.

Here's a link from Good and Evo that explains the process.

As dburg84 said, make sure you have the stocked signed bootloader restored before you do the writesecureflag command or you will brick your phone and have to attempt another process to recover it.

I'll see what I can do, I'll have to get together with Ramjet and pick his brain so I can do it flawlessly the first time (to quote Vinnie Paul Abbott, "FIRST TAKE LIKE A MOTHERF**KER!"

Just wanted to chime in and say that it worked fine for me on the second try. I did it two days ago and couldn't be happier. There have been zero hiccups. The guys that figure this stuff out are pure geniuses. If my palms weren't so sweaty when I did it I might have been able to do a video of the procedure. It's all about making sure that you get a good contact when using the wire (I used a paperclip and electrical tape because it was very stable).

Good luck to all that haven't tried this yet. You can do it!

Update: I should also mention that when I did the procedure I was running MeanROM 4.2, using Windows 7 and I do have HTC Sync and iTunes installed. After failing the first time I right-clicked and closed HTC Sync. I don't know if it was that or the timing but all was good the second time around. The point here is that I didn't do any extra work of uninstalling software on my computer or installing a different ROM on my phone.
