Default Kies via wifi missing

Has anyone else noticed that the Kies via wifi option is missing from our phones?

I'd love to use this functionality but the menu option is missing from wireless settings. I have tried searching for a kies air server from the kies air app, but it doesn't work. Nor do I expect it to, since Kies Air and Kies via wifi are 2 different things.

I do have the kies server set up correctly as I can connect with my galaxy tab 10.1 just fine.

Kies Air != Kies via wifi

Even so, doing a search for Kies Air servers inside the Kies Air app still fails, while the Kies via wifi option on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 works.

OK my bad I guess. I just saw the wifi option in Air, sooo...

Nevertheless, yours seems to be a common problem

Glad to see it isnt just me. I have the same problem with my Skyrocket. I dont see the option anymore and cant get it to connect to the thick client Kies app on my laptop for Wireless syncing. I know Kies Air and how to use it and it works fine, but I want to use the wireless syncing. I cant get it to work on one of the T989s we got, or the two Skyrockets we got. Samsung's guide on how to set it up only talks about the PC side but makes no mention of what you have to do on the Phone side to get it to show up on Kies?

My Galaxy Tab 10.1 works great with wireless syncing, but it also still has the option to use Kies via wifi under the wireless settings that my phone is missing.

It's weird - Kies via wifi shows up as an installed app, separate from Kies Air of course.

Yeap Im with you there. Clearly shows up as an installed App but I cant find it anywhere on the phone how to activate it. The latest LDE update on the T989 doesnt even have it on the Wireless/Network menu group. So like you, Im lost on how to even use it.

Thumbs down Kies via WiFi not allowed by AT&T

After a twenty minute, circular chat with Samsung's chat service, this is what I finally got:

Tracy: I have checked with the information from our data base.
Tracy: Unfortunately, the Kies via Wi-Fi option is not available for AT&T Sky Rocket phone.
Tracy: I apologize for the inconvenience.
Tracy: I would have surely provide you with the information if there was an option on the phone.
Visitor: this should have been the first thing you told me. It seems that this information is being withheld
Tracy: I understand your concern.
Tracy: Please accept my sincere apology.
