It has gotten even weirder:

After i flashed the OTA ICS rom, i decided to experiment some more.
Now i WAS able to update to the ICS bootloader with the serial and the generated sbk that i found from last year (which didn't work at first).

you can do this all manually or you can google " A500 manager by blackthund3r"-

it has components for everything you will need - SBK generator-APXFlash Tool-

Root Tool-drivers etc

check out civato's guide to unlocking the v3 bootloader and other stuff
which has instructions and d/l packs for the a500 manager

theres the taboonay rom by vache or icylicious by atgadmin - cm9 by waydownsouth

if u just want root for the time being then "ISC Root"

the hardest part is really is in choosing what you want - oh and that CPUID, you
cannot do anything without that!!!!!

Thanks dibb_nz. I am not sure what I am really looking for on this other that seeing what kind of cool stuff is available. I have the PCUID if I found what I am supposed to find correctly. Now I just need to get the rooting process so I can start on the rest. I have been a bit busy with the kids this last week as school is almost out here so final projects, concerts, ETC going on. Hopefully I will have some time this next week to play with it some more.

I have done everything like it says and it worked first try....When i booted up my tablet after flashing it says skrilax v5 0.0314 mul or something like that but when i open up acer recovery installer to see what bootloader i have it still says 3.01 do i have to re-flash or something or do i indeed have the ics bootloader.....also i keep getting random reboots like every 5 minutes what should i do to fix this?????

Have read a couple of posts referring to this but not sure what the problem might be...I'd flash back to v4 and see if that will make any difference...post a question on Euclids Brother Acer Recovery Installer Thread...fire up a500 Manager and see what that reports your bootloader version as

Not liking the sound of those random reboots......

I'm running civ's flexstriker rf1-v3 it was weird though cause after I flashed everything it went through with no problems and when it rebooted I got the Acer iconia a500 screen then it says up in top left corner loading v6 something ...sorry I can't remember what it says but I know it says its loading the ice boot loader but I rebooted my tab a couple of times and now when I open Acer recovery it says my boot loader is 0.03.14 MUL.... so I guess everything is all gravy now but beside my boot loader version it says click for important boot loader information. Is it supposed to say that? Cause I installed cwm 1.3.4 instead of the 1.7 touch recovery.

The later versions (v4, v5, & v6) of SKrilax_CZ's patched, unlocked ICS bootloader pass 0.03.14-MUL to the command line. That bootloader info reminder is just that.

Is there anything else I need to do or am I good to go? I figured since I flashed the ICS boot loader I would be able to use HBO GO but I can't for the life of me get it to work it just keeps saying not supported on this device

Should be good to go. See this thread for HBO GO: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1647420. Note the startup/activation step - it works!

Also guys, couple of reports that rolling back to HC BL sorts out all sorts of weird problems some were having since upgrading to the ICS BL....

Be nice to know if its worked for anyone else???

If you do go back GRAB YOUR HC CPUID - the SBK Generator needs your
HC CPUID (15 Numbers) your ics CPUID (11 Numbers) will not work....

just got this from a nandroid back up 0x288424342e0b397 its longer than 15 digits, but so far this is the only thing I got that was over 11 digits, so does this look my cupid minus the 0x?
