after some more thought about the button placement: how hard would it be to make the toolbars configurable?
imho the best solution for everyone would be configurable top+bottom toolbars with all unassigned items showing in the expander menu (the 3 dots button, no idea what the official name is). and double-tap should then hide the bottom toolbar only instead of hiding both.

I like the idea, but I don't think I have enough time to do this.

on the main screen only text color changes. you'll have to open a list view to actually see the theme.

In the main (dashboard) screen, you will see the text color change if your phone runs ICS, none otherwise.

However, you will see other screens have changed according to the chosen theme. Button is the shortcut for the preference setting.
