Hi there, I ordered my Mum a vodafone Sii, it arrived locked to Vodafone. I flashed a custom ROM via Odin (without a SIM inserted) with no problems at all.

Its only when Flashing via Odin.Odin flashes deep into the heart of your phone/system and is more indepth and if not done correctly can be more dangerous.Also the risk is great with firmwares because of the size of the file.Its harder to recover a bricked phone form a bad Odin flash than a bad CWM or Recovery flash.CWM and Recovery flashes are more NAND RW flashes or readable flashes.

With first run remove root with extweaks. It will be installed automagically with next reboot
