When this thread was open I believe they honestly thought it was a software fix that did'nt neccassarily plague every unit. Now that they know it does, and are not willing to fix them because it simply isn't cost effective, they will just ignore it. I would bet that shortly after the Infinity comes out, this model disappears. Yes, the 300 may have wifi/bt drop off (not sure first hand), the fcc filings stated up front that they don't work at the same time. That is not the case for this device.

Based on Anandtech and other teardowns, the current three Asus tablets all have the same wifi chip. The Prime has weak wifi, but the other two have great wifi and have plastic backs.

Attenuation is a beach.

Wonderful. So they probably all have wifi/bt that doesn't work together. I was hoping the infinity would get everything right. If they release another "high end" tablet with bt/wifi that don't work at the same time the criticism will be never ending.

@demandarin" you wrote about a new OTA today.

I know you probably tested it, what is it good for?

WiFi, battery life (due to WiFi), browser freezing, crashing and so on.
I am on a German rooted 21 firmware so I will get it not soon...
I am just curious :)

Glad to hear. I use remote desktop apps constantly and if I just let it sit with Jump Desktop running (which keeps the screen on), without doing anything else I end up rebooting a couple times a day. I REALLY hope the fixes also take care of this as well. Fingers crossed...

If they have the same wireless "combo modules", then why does the tf300 have BT 3.0 while the Transformer Prime has BT 2.1? The Wifi chip may be the same, but it doesn't look like the BT chip is the same.

..in any case, I am still VERY disappointed that Gary has left this thread.

demandarin should send a greeting to him and tell that I can't believe he does not make a statement here, so the mod can close this thread as "useless and outdated".

Seriously, GK has been a great help for many reasons, but for me his silence=failure.

I did what he "mailed" me, made an RMA, had a lot of trouble and anger doing that.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1525229

Nothing helped!.

I asked several time for a replacement to him and to my regional ASUS, they do not care!

For me ASUS as a company is a bad experience, even if I like the tablet.

The dongle?? wow that was a strategic choice to "kill the fire", but for me WiFi/BT on a tablet is like 90% of a tablet usage.

So to whom may have a direct contact to GK, I think they/he should close this thread for good!
