Even with the extra packages.xml tweak it doesn't work for me either. However, Smando has acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix. Fingers crossed!

I knew what it is. Which is why I said app killer AND SUCH.
the boot in task manager is not a real killer like the app killers available. It's manually done. And it's known that killing all things in memory hurts the battery.

Looks like I had my first sleep death last night.

Plugged my phone in to charge as normal (same charger I've been using). Woke up this morning and it would not turn on. Held power to reboot it and when it came up, the battery was still at 100%. So nothing drained the battery to kill it.

No idea of the cause yet, but figured worth sharing. Will track the next couple nights as well.

only problem I've experienced so far is that some settings menu's are FC'ing. Sounds like a simple "clear cache/dalvik" fix but I tried that. For example, if I go to "settings" then "more", it turns black for a minute, then crashes. Otherwise, its running well right now. No battery drain for me.

I'll clear the cache and dalvik one more time to see if that fixes it. Anyone else having the same problem? or is it just me?

update: flashing Siyah's kernel fixed this issue.

I personally have never had good luck with the included CP or Siyah kernels (experienced SODs). You may want to try Entropy's - I've never had an SOD with his kernel combined with any of Sho's Roms. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it's pretty damn solid if stability is what you crave.

EDIT : sorry, this is in response to ack154 above. Replying on my phone and forgot to quote.

I can say I'm running V2.2.2 and my battery life is great, I'm losing maybe 1-2% an hour standby vs upwards of 7-10% before, and in use battery life is better too while browsing etc. I'm impressed. You must have a rogue app causing issues, I have auto sync on, auto brightness, FB notifications, email, calender and task notifications etc etc.

I'm losing more like 4% an hour standby.
Wasn't seeing that with same apps running the leak.

On V3? Haven't updated yet, actually don't know if that's for international or not since it said netherlands base? But on 2.2.2, was at 97% just over an hour ago, and just dropped to 96%. Only actual widget I have running on screen is the 3D flip weather/clock, otherwise just the normal sync and notification options and email etc.

This ROM is posted in SGH-i777 development forum. So it's compatible with AT&T SGS2 only.
