I downloaded the Apollo apk from http://www.seeingpixels.org and it's pretty cool. However, on that page it says, download here or "simply grab the latest CyanogenMod 9 nightly build". I just flashed 20120523 (the latest nightly) and it's not included. Confused.

You believe?

Heh. On a serious note, I have not seen Apollo on the last 2 nightlies and have had to install it manually and here's why:

The changelog for nightly 20120521 shows this:
Revert "Add Apollo to list of built CM apps" .. more detailed explanation

The 5/21 nightly removed Apollo and it has not yet been added back. To follow what is changing with CM9, always keep this link handy: CM9 Nightly Captivate Changelog

Default Went on trip... Found bugs??

I recently went on a trip to North Conway, NH (from Southern Maine). I noticed a few things with my cappy (0517 nightly) that I'm concerned about and not sure if they are bugs for the ROM (I didn't find anything in the OP).

1) When service was sparce, my phone started listing at Unicell and roaming (I don't believe there were any roaming charges though?)... my wife has the same phone on full samsung stock and wasn't roaming at all (same sparse service)

2) I used the GPS to get us to and from there (UGKG3 modem) and I noticed two strange things: One was that the phone used battery faster than the car charger could put it back in. Two was the phone got wicked hot (50C). I've never seen my wife's phone get that hot before. I know GPS sucks a lot of processor, but this seemed excessive... was it?

Has anyone else experienced stuff like this with the ROM?
Thanks!

Apollo was removed temporarily because it was having issues with devices that weren't HDPI. It is fine to use on the Captivate still.
Don't like my answer? Whatch this or read this
Are you a dev still using mediafire or dropbox for hosting? PM me up and we'll get that fixed.

And for those having problems.. use the Torrent link. Always downloads super fast for me. If you're doing it on your phone.. use "tTorrent" from the Play Store, works flawlessly as a mobile torrent downloader.
Where does one find the nightly torrent?

Edit: found it thanks whyareyou. It's fast wow.. I have to start downloading this way from now on. Always using the phone, couldn't see the torrent link. Weeeooo!

I have noticed such behavior before when using sd card read ahead script. But cm9 doesn't have it.
Yay linux.

Another thing to try, is to disconnect your USB cable and enable "ADB over network" instead to see if it's faster than usb. adb pushing the 100MB+ CM9 zips takes almost 30 seconds over usb for me, and about 5 minutes over wireless.

I never restore system apps - I learnt that lesson during Eclair days.

I found what the problem with the WiFi and signal turning off was. I have VoIP system (OOMA Hub) hooked to my combination router/modem (Actiontec). All computers on my network get assigned an IP address in the range 192.168.1.xxx. Ooma's internal setup IP address is 172.27.35.1, and somehow my phone was being assigned a 172.27.35.xx IP address when i turned the WiFi on instead of a 192.168.1.xxx IP address. I had to reconfigure the Ooma hub, and everything is OK now. I get a WiFi lock and steady signal, so am a happy camper

Thanks for your suggestions though!
