Tried cheking for the "Use GV for messages" option. Could not find it. My GV app's build number is 0.4.2.54. Could you please guide me on where I can find it?
Also when you say messages, I assume you're referring to voice messages and not text messages. I dont care about text messages. Just to refresh, here's what I am trying to accomplish - I want my GV app to notify me when I get a new voice message
. This does happen if I have google voice running in the background but does NOT give me any notifications if GV is closed / killed.
So I did some more google search on this issue and here's what i found out
This thread proved to be useful - http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc...gle-voice.html
In the 10th post on this page by "Live4nyy" the suggested solution worked for me. Choosing Google as my VM provider and immediately
pressing the home button before it spases out on me and gives the error message works. I now have Google as my chosen option.
Our issue is not that we cant get a caller's message to go to our Google Voice mailboxes; that we are able to do. Our issue is - We don't get any notifications when someone leaves us a voice msg, allegedly, because of HTC Sense 4.0's task manager. Apparently the reason the One series phones are getting better battery life is because HTC overwrote the android task manager with their own which is more aggressive with ending tasks. So as long as Google Voice is running as a background process all is working. As soon the Sense 4.0 kills the GV process it's pretty much manually checking for msgs.
Any thoughts on troubleshooting this?
