Ever Evolving Flexreaper & such
@ Civato;
I don't care what anyone says. I think the collaborative effort of you, Blackthund3r, Skrilax, & co. have done a top notch job with this Flexreaper. Kudos and many thanks. Sometime in the future (after I learn more and get in the swing of things) hopefully I could help out. Till then, I thoroughly enjoy this ROM on Iconia A500.
@ Crandy:
Good advice. I am a bit leary of making permanent settings to my CPU freq's at my knowledge base. So yes, I dont set them to reboot to settings. Still toying with System Tuner settings on the FlexReaper.
So far, the Skrilax V4 bootloader is working A-ok for me. From what I have read, the V6 bootloader is some sort of ICS/HC hybrid dual boot thingie. I have zero interest in dual booting my tablet. Besides, its a pain to lug out my laptop, set up and juggle BlackThund3r's old and new flash util's and finaggle it all into the APX mode. (my tablet is bitchier than I am when it comes to getting into APX mode. It doesn't want to, and when tricked into it, doesnt wanna come out of it unless I talk nice to it and hot kill it when its not looking. ;-p )
Anyways, back to CPU frequencies...
I noticed something odd, Crandy. When I under-clock my CPU @ the 1.5GHz level to 1250mV, my Quadrant bench goes up at least 150 pts. If I over-volt it @ 1.5GHz to 1300mV, it takes a nose dive 50 pts on benchmark. Odd. Seems counter-intuitive.
@ the 608MHz, if I under-volt to 750mV, the tegra2 goes batty on me, flickers out and crashes on the FlexReaper the first time I kick on two apps. (at one app running, it bogs and complains, but doesn't go caput) So for my tablet, I think there is an established 50mV under-volt threshhold here. Playing conservatively, I dont think its prudent to over-volt more than 50mV either.
@ the lowest mV setting (218Mhz), it doesn't really matter what its under or over-volted to. My tablet runs poorly, very laggy, yet stable. It parks CPU 0 and runs the CPU1 instead. (at least that is what System Tuner tells me)
@ 1.o GHz tegra2 factory default, there is a leeway under/over-volt of at least 75 mV (150 spread) with no noticeable gain or depreciation to the Quadrant II benches. They all slither in between 1500 to 2300 depending on what I set to exclude process on.
I'm thinking that this Tegra2 on Civato's Flexreaper exteem edition here is best suited to full tilt 1.5 GHz @ 1250mV set governor to "performance" to get benches in the 3500+ range, or drop out to the undervolt/under-clock realm of no lower than 608MHz @ 700mV for max battery savings.
Maybe I am missing something, but it seems this range the FlexReaper runs best in on the Iconia A500.
Lower end: 608MHz @ 750mV to 1.5GHz @ 1250mV top end.
