Wow...I seriously lost ALL respect for Tmobile and Sammy on this device. Green LED is like the standard android color and they left it out.

I think one reason why the LED control is so unusual is that it has multiple LEDs for different colors, rather than a single RGB LED. Not saying it's a GOOD reason.

I'll takes look at the GPIO assignments and see if I can grok the kernel interface. Perhaps I can arrange for a kernel with a more typical interface.

wait, the device does do green led, when your battery is approaching fully charged, right? or is that something different? how does this come into play? or is the point that you can't select green for any other notifications?

i hadnt thought of that, is there a way to make the messaging app to recognise it as its notification led?

Handcent can control that led.
