Kies air

For some reason my Kies air wants me to update it, this is the first time it has ever had a update. What does this mean, could it be for ICS? I have the Emily rom so should I update it or not?

It loss like it was updated a few days ago in the Play Store to include a warning when transmitting data over an unsecured wireless connection. This is most likely what it is as an upgrade to your operating system would not be through an update to an app.
