Do you think this article will simplify the process of replacing the glass?

And you really did not need to unmount the phone? So the steps are:

- removing back cover
- spray silicone remover
- remove the edge carefully
- remove the shattered glass
- clean it all up
- add yome glue to the new glass and but it back on
- glue the (new) edge back to the phone

Am I right?

Cheers again
esatto , rimuovere tutto non serve , devi solo staccare il vetro dal bordo e dal vetro sottostante , lo devi fare con lo spray ed aspettare qualche secondo che questo fa effetto e poi ....

Default How to remove metallic frame from Screen

Hi everyone,

I disassemble my phone recently trying to fix something else, and then I screwed the screen ribbon cable. So in order to fix it and to replace that cable, I need to get access to the screen PCB (or I guess so, still not sure where I will attach the cable) and I really don't know how to do this because of the metallic and plastic casing that covers it. (see included pics)

Anyone knows how to do that?

Your help would be much appreciated.

question - is it possible to purchase only digitizer, or AMOLED separately ?

And whatever the case may be, could I get a link from someone here, or PM, to give me the best price around .. ? I only come up with 80$ + prices, which is ridiculous cause that's the half price of the whole used phone .. ?

If u only need to replace the digitizer, that could be possible, but if the screen is broken, the only amoled screen i've seen below 80$ are already scratch. So there's not much hope to get what you are looking at...

I will be more precise then

Digitizer seems to be sold separetely, (take a look on Ebay Item number: 170830076435) but screens (meaning Amoled screen) are not sold as is and you can only see them sold as a bundle (including screen, digitizer, outer lens glass, and usually also with the front frame)

But if you could provide answer for my own post, that would be great

It is NOT possible to replace just the digitizer on this model. The digitizer is FUSED to the LCD screen. You will need the LCD & Digitizer replacement if you are replacing the screen.

We also have a guide on this model which you can find here - Samsung Galaxy S i9000 Repair Guide
