CM has updated twice since DJ's last update that's why I asked. CM7 is up to RC3 with their last update.

Everything is working fine for me so I'm in no hurry.

I figure he's adding his 11 herbs and spices to RC3. So something should drop soon.

No matter what I always come back to this rom. Over the last several days I have had some time to play with every Gingerbread and ICS build for the G2x and now this is STILL the rom that I've chosen. It is just so smooth and have never run into any major issues. I'm looking forward to, but waiting patiently for, a new build. Thanks DJ!

Anyone experienced the screen of deaths? The only flaw with this ROM.

Nope. No SOD. No reboots. But then I didn't have any with stock.

No, not a single SOD running this as my daily driver since the 10th. But I don't really seem to get SOD with stock or any other build.

You using the stock kernel or did you flash another one? No SODs here by the way.

Huh. I get no SODs on mine. Fiancee is fine too.

As for updates... meh. It works pretty damn well. If there's an update, cool. Otherwise, I dont have anything to complain about, lol.

I've never had any problems with this ROM + stock CM7 kernel. Except the known "airplane mode wipes APN data" bug. It is very solid and has good performance and battery. The other kernels & ROMS may claim to be better in benchmarks and battery, but I haven't noticed anyone actually do a semi-scientific comparison. And a lot of tweaks seem to introduce new problems.

To see what recent Gingerbread commits are worth rebuilding, go to http://r.cyanogenmod.com and click merged. The column that shows gingerbread are the ones that are relevant to this ROM. And even then most of the recent commits are for other devices. The RC3 name bump is for more drastic changes to other CM7 devices, nothing that affects the G2x much.

UPDATE: Apparently latest CM7.2 nightlies work with the March baseband, but broke compatibility with older basebands. Here's the commit, unless someone writes code to check which binary to use depending on which baseband is installed, it'll be either a pre-march 2012 BB ROM or post-march 2012 BB ROM.

UPDATE2: CM7 build 20120610 & later should be compatible with both old & new basebands.
