Update: Installed Audioguru on my son's ICS Amaze and it stated ICS Ringer and Notifications volumes can't be made independent of each other...so the solution is using the silent.mp3 as suggested by Silentbtdeadly.
HTC Amaze 4G

- Unlocked bootloader SHIP S-ON
- 4EXT 2.4.2 Recovery

Default s-off flashed new ics firmware phone locked

Hello I had my HTC amaze unlocked with s-off and modded hboot and then updated to a new ICS firmware to run ICS however when the firmware flashed to my phone it locked my phone and reset my hboot but still kept s-off. Is there anyway to unlock my phone again?

You can unlock with the same code you received received via email from htc dev site.

Very disappointed to see the charging bug is still there where if connected to the charger, once it reaches 100% it stops charging and will never start again unless the charger is disconnected, or the phone shuts down due the battery dying. There should never be a point where I can leave my phone connected to the charger and come back to find my battery at less than a percent or 2 short of 100. Coming back to find the battery lower than when I connected it, or finding it full but that the phone has been off because it completely drained out the battery is garbage.

T-Mobile and HTC can both lick my hairy friends on that one. How could they not fix that issue? Yes, I know many of the custom roms on here have that issue fixed. Just very sad that both HTC and T-Mobile failed to deliver a stock rom with the issue fixed.

I think it is intentional. A LiIon battery is not supposed to be kept at 100 percent. My amaze does not use a lot of battery when at idle; I suspect all the amaze phones actually stop charging at 100, but we dont realize it because of the idle efficiency of the phone.

Hey fellas... Easy question and I've pretty much got the answer but with everything that has changed (even since this op was updated) I figured it doesn't hurt to ask...

Been holding out on ics because my amaze was so smooth and stable with various awesome roms for gb but now I'd like to feed my flash problem SO in the op it says you can JUST flash the firmware through bootloader but to be crystal clear, I DO need to re lock my bootloader first, correct?

I know I would need to if flashing the ruu, and I'm thinking it should be necessary for the firmware too but if I don't have to then I'll be lazy

Hey guys, I was under the impression that you needed S-OFF to flash the ICS RUU, but here it says you can do it even with S-ON. If I follow the instructions here, will I be able to get ICS on my Wind Mobile Amaze?

Also, I was just wondering if the wire trick is still the only method to achieve S-OFF. I'm not too comfortable with doing it myself after reading about all these people who ended up bricking their phones after they messed up.

Yes, you can have s-on and still flash.. but I think you need s-off to get supercid or whatever it is to flash on a wind mobile phone.

Don't feel uncomfortable - sure, you could screw up your device, but really you're more likely to do it with some other thing that sounds safer that you didn't research well enough.
The ONLY issue people had with the s-off method when it first came out was that they HAD to achieve s-off to get their phone booting again.. now it backs up and restores the file they replace for the process, so if you want to give up - YOU CAN.

Besides, it is tried and true, the only people that had issues lacked determination or couldn't follow basic directions.. I say give it a go, I think you need the supercid so you need s-off.

Alright so I took the plunge and flashed the updated ICS leak on Friday, here is my experience. First I used the all in one tool to flash the stock recovery, then relocked the bootloader and placed the PH85IMG.zip on the sd card. Booted into H-Boot where the phone recognized the update and proceeded to apply it with no problem. After the update the phone rebooted (which took a bit longer than usual but this is normal). After entering my Google credentials I went ahead and restored a few apps, flashed CWM (BAD IDEA), Unlocked the boot-loader using the unlock code from HTC (note this is the same unlock code I keep using no need to get a new one). Flashed CWM and Root package. This is when things get interesting. After using the Rom for a while I decided to give the circle battery mod a try, as it is customarily I made a backup using CWM, now said backup took about 2 minutes, which seemed strange at the time but it said complete so I flashed away. Well after the reboot the phone which apparently did not like the mod kept on getting FC's and even re-booted a couple of times. I decided it was time for a restore. Booted into recovery went to backup and chose the latest backup from the list, next thing I know I see the phone restoring the Boot.img and I'm like WTF is this. Well apparently CWM did not perform a backup and merely changed the name and date of one of my earlier ones from the first leak. Luckily I managed to flash the stock recovery, re-lock the loader and re-flash the update. Needless to say the first thing I did after logging in was going to the Play Store and purchasing 4EXT, I highly recommend this app and recovery absolutely amazing. Also, the battery life seems much improved at least for me after bloat removal and tuning thanks guys and sorry for the long story.
