Give Neutron Music Player a try from the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ncode.mp&hl=en

IMHO, has the best sound quality with it's 32-bit audio rendering engine, even compared to Power Amp, etc.

Neutron is awesome just not a fan of the ui... the big thing is voodoo to amp up the Max volume it really makes the difference in conjunction with what ever eq you use.

Yeah, that's true, the ui and the library handling takes some time to get used to. However the sound makes up for those. I'm using voodoo control, but the headphone amplifier analog level set only sticks until the first incoming call ringtone/notification, etc. Then I have to re-set it again to my preferred value.

All voodoo control did for me was make the sound crackely and worse. I must be doing something wrong, can you post a picture of your setup?

Its not really a setting just use a kernel with voodoo driver and install the free app.. then go I.tl the app and turn the headphone output to +5.. and with poweramp,DSP,or any good EQ you will have sound as good if not better than an iPod/iPhone.

Did that. Still having the issue when I go to full volume that the sound is all messed up. It sounds better for the lower volume and in poweramp. Oh well I'll just have to sync my sansa more.
