@ glevitan: how does it work to go back using AHTK? I'm already GB, will it erase the system and flash original sense 2.1 gb 2.3...(5?)
Actually, never used it but my guess is that erases everything. In the last version of the kit you dont have the choice to go back to froyo, just gingerbread, I check it yesterday.

I wouldn't recommend using the hack kit to flash a stock rom if you want to stay rooted. If you want to unroot, then I would use it. I have been reading a few threads where users have been getting into trouble because they used the hack kit when they are already rooted. Use it if you want to unroot. If use just want stock without unrooting, there is no need to use it. Just my two cents.

I really am not sure if cause trouble. What I understood is that you might get jammed up if you try to root and already rooted phone. Maybe is time to go to the IRC channel and ask the guys....There's a video tutorial of return to stock and S-ON with the hack kit in youtube and it runs smoothly...but you never know.

According to the effen manual, the options for the return to stock menu will unroot and s-on the device. There is a toggle flash method that uses a pd98img, but if we already know we can accomplish this by placing it on the root of the SD card and flashing from there, there is really no need to use the hack kit. The poster we have been replying to made it clear that he wanted to remain rooted, so that he may flash a custom rom at a later date, if he so desires.

Yeah, my goal is to get back to stock basically, sense 2.1 and stuff, but with root.
I found these 2 roms that are "flashable" via CWM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982963 & http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1192372
I have even posted on one of them a while back, but got no response due to the low activity of stock roms.
the purpose of art is to stand naked on stage

First off, if your phone is a late model Inspire (post Aug. 2011), then you must use a GingerBread based ROM (2.47.502.7) or end up with the infamous "slow hboot" problem.

Second, if you're S-OFF, then you can write whatever you want to the phone via hboot (PD98IMG.zip format) and the phone won't get in your way (S-OFF means that all security is turned off and it will let you do whatever you want--including bricking your phone). If you want to play with other ROMs, jut be sure you have ClockWorkMod recovery and backup your current ROM, then run whatever you want. As long as it doesn't overwrite your recovery, then you can always restore your backup and be right back where you started.
