At first hi, welcome to the XDA-community! Second, you are at the wrong place. This is the T-Mobile G1 section, but maybe I can help you. My opinion is taht you just stick to the orginal ROM, because it is a new handset with a good OS. BUT, if you still want to root your phone, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1415223 Though rooting requires basic computering knowledge I give you 1 big caution:
Rooting your phone WILL void your warranty
As you have a new phone, you don't want to do that in case you let it fall and the screen is broken or such. This post does have a easy rooting method so it's dumbed up enough for beginners in rooting. Second step is getting a new ROM (OS, still android). The handset if fairly new, so there are not so many ROMs available. Just google around.
I hope this got you started!
Cheers and welcome to our community!
