Beware that, as noted before, WiFi is not yet fuctional enough for it to be your daily driver if that's your method of connection.

Note source came at an inopportune time, since I can't work on this project until next Tuesday at the earliest. I did fix vibration and some microphone stuff on Wednesday, but a real fix to the screen glitch that doesn't randomly cause the device to not boot will take a bit longer. Also, I have had no time to look at the wifi stuff yet, since that is a much bigger ordeal.

Hey Hey! No rush, development has its own pace. No need to rush things. All the work up till now is a huge (!) contribution to the p6800/6816810 community. As everybody else is saying, keep up the good work!

Actually, there is a rush... nothing bad about Locerra, he also has a live and is doing what he can.. but there really is a need for an extra developer to work on this.

If Samsung does not come with an ICS update, and this is our only hope.. then there will never be an good working ICS rom this year. (no flame intended towards Locerra)

I'm to stupid to be an developer, but maybe we can find someone in the other fora to help us out with an ICS update. I have deep respect for Locerra's work here, but he cannot do this in an timely matter in his own.

We really should not say there is a rush, off course there is a rush because all of us would really like to have an ICS update for the 7.7 before it's obsolete.

I think you mean demand not rush .

There is a high demand for ICS on this tab but rushing something usually means you end up with an inferior outcome.

I'm not saying the work should be rushed, i'm meaning that there is a certain timeframe in which this has to finish... everytime saying that there is no rush and at the end there is an ICS rom in Q2 2013 should not be the goal. By that time most have an other tablet and most of Locerra's hard work might be for nothing.

So maybe people know people who know developers which are able to help so we can get more manhours/manpower available to help Locerra with the project.

Since as you say there's a rush to finish this project and you don't have the skills, maybe you should hire developers to help Locerra with the work and then the "timeframe" can be met...

Or you can bitch to Samsung for not meeting your "timeframe"...

Time is money and Locerra is doing a great job, but he is only one person. Any developers out there that want to contribute? I assume you would coordinate with Locerra to collaborate and get this done and without problems and make available. I for one would contribute towards their time, once they organized and made it known in posts who, what, and expected time frame. If several people would jump in with Locerra and organize to get this done, and let us know, I will be pleased to contribute to each of the collaborators.

There certainly is a demand, and to fill this demand, we should all contribute to those capable, for their time and efforts.

Does the wifi work at all? I know you said the wifi has many issues, but does that mean I wont be able to use wifi? I have the wifi model, and it stays at home with me, always on the same wifi. Thank you

The wifi works, but only close to the AP and only for a short while. At least thats my experience.
