+1, I've done this myself. If it doesn't work right away let the phone sit for a while with the battery out. There's a good chance that Odin will recognize the phone even though there's no response from the screen, just make sure you flash something for the sgh-t959v this time, don't take any more chances.

Well, I tried what you guys said. There is no response from the phone though. odin and the other tools don't recognize it. 3 button combo and then flashing even though there is a black screen did not work. I just found a thread about the same problem in which FBis251 also posted:

Tried the mentioned procedures, even the ones on Ubuntu, with no luck. I guess I'm just going to send my phone to a samsung boot repair jtag service in great britain... (sending it back to T-mobile USA won't be worth it because shipping's too expensive and they would probably notice that I was messing with :P ). Thanks for your help.

Not all kernels with voodoo lagfix (which converts a few of the partitions from the rfs file system to the ext4 filesystem) come with voodoo sound. Check the development sections for more, but off-hand I know that the kernel I use (see my signature below) has voodoo sound.
If I helped, please click the "Thanks" button!

Thanks for the info. However, do all kernels with voodoo lagfix with voodoo sound work with the voodoo sound android application? The app says that my phone has the lagfix however I'm unable to access any of the sound controls.

Never mind, I PM'd the guy that made the kernel and he said that it didn't include voodoo sound. I guess now is a good excuse to look for a new rom/kernel and see what all the hype is about.
