I Like the guide, but I cannot confirm that it works for me.

Just picked up my replacement phone this morning and when I run the HTCDev files, it give me error 132.

Which from my searching usually means corrupt file, so I re-downloaded and still have had no luck.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks for making this stupid hard sprint. We love you.

I don't believe its a download issue.

Should I just go with the Indirect method?

From the posts in here, it looks like it can cause issues.

You're copying and pasting the unlock code improperly.

Please watch the videos and follow the instructions on HTCDev.com very closely.

Thank you.

Thank you for this guide. I have successfully rooted and flashed my wife's Shift that had 2.3.4. The videos were especially helpful and although this method was time consuming, it worked!

As many have said, be sure to use a clean formatted FAT 32 SD card. This made the difference for me when I ran into trouble.

Seems like a thorough guide. Except when I try to use the HTC dev unlocker thing, its full of errors in various steps. I don't get too far. This is after a month of waiting for an activation email.
