I have been using the MIUI launcher lately and not having any issues with it stopping. But only if I run minimal widgets and place all icons in folders. This is normal for me so its not really a concern to do this. Obviously with all the icons not in folders and a bunch of widgets everywhere I get the known issue of it stopping. Just wanted to put that out there for anyone who was interested

I have no problem with this at all

Edit: also I have had no problems downloading or installing themes at all...with the exception of yesterday and that was not connecting to the network which obviously was on the MIUI side.

Ok, I got themes to work for me now. I dont know if it makes a difference but the first time I typed the command, I typed it like chmod -R 777 /data/ with the "/" at the end as was suggested in the second post. LaserChicken posted a comment a while back and typed it chmod -R 777 /data without the "/" at the end. I dont know if thats what made a difference or maybe I really did just type something wrong the first time. But I successfully installed a theme now so thats working for me.
My Devices:
Galaxy Nexus / HP TouchPad (Both on Jelly Bean)
Droid X2
Palm Pre Plus
Palm Centro
Everything before that doesn't matter.

Check and see if it installed though. It does that but the apk still installs.

Hey trafalger, how did you change the "preferred system" in the status bar? Is that in settings somewhere or did you edit some file?

I did neither

But the system select settings are in the settings under the mobile network...if that's what you were looking for...mine is set to home only I believe
