the only way you can get into ## menu is flash back to a sense rom.

How do you update PRL on an ICS rom?

Im running Mean Rom 2.4, and sprint signal seems worse each week. Im finally ready to switch to verizon PRL and hope that sprint tries to cancel me.

But my phone won't access update with a ##775#.

Ideas?

To access ##775# you have to be running a sense rom. The other option is outlined here.

Default VZW PRL on Sprint iPhone 4S

Hi all! I have been following this thread about PRL's for all the carriers. I'm a Sprint user on an iPhone 4S, and my service with sprint north of Chicago, IL has been terrible. I have actually been using a Verizon 52707 prl on my Sprint iPhone, and have been roaming on Verizon with pretty decent results. Still not great, but definitely better than Sprint.

Couple of questions I have though ...

1) Is the 52707 the best one to be running? I'm curious if there is something newer that I might be better off with.

2) I noticed you had some hybrid SprintVerizon and Verizon/Sprint prls. Wouldn't running 52707 be pretty much the same as running the VerizonSprint mod prl? I assume the Verizon PRL already allows roaming on Sprint? Maybe the difference there is that you modded the PRL so it choses the best signal?

3) Right now on the 52707 PRL, when I am at my work, we have Verizon 3G Femtocell units here in the office. While running 52707, my Sprint iPhone will connect to the Femtocell for voice roaming, but it does not connect to it for 3G data. Is there any tweak you can make to the PRL to force this to work?

I really appreciate everyone's efforts! It is keeping me from absolutely shooting someone at Sprint! My hope is that I can ride this in Chicago until Sprint finishes their network upgrades, at which point I won't mind being back on Sprint's network. Or, I would also be okay with them kicking me off for too much roaming, and letting me out of my contract.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Watch your ass with the roaming. They (Sprint) was giving me a hard time for over roaming. Even though roaming was the only way to get usable service at my house. My wife's phone roams like mad at the house cuz Sprint can't put a signal out with enough power to have her or my phone connect to them instead of the other two towers that are all within a half mile of my house..

Granted, I roamed for almost ten months without an issue. Never saw 4g either, but that's a whole other rant.

But basically change back to a Sprint prl when speeds aren't required and it should keep you under their limit.
Which is 80% of your data usage of I remember correctly

I will be adding more.
Which of Verizon's PRLs are EVDO-only, i.e. for modems and data-only devices?

Jerrod Justice's PRL list for Sprint (linked in the first post) looks to be outdated. Where is a good place to keep up on the latest Sprint PRL's to download?

In the first post. The dev-host link. It looks to have a fairly new sprint PRL (March 2012). Not sure if its the latest though.

Yeah, the latest is 60690. I don't know the exact date, but I believe it was released sometime over the summer.

Most of these PRL updates seem to provide minor corrections/updates. I suspect major metropolitan areas would likely not be affected. How do you update your PRL? Do you roll back to a stock ROM or do you use a more efficient technique?
