I am running 2.1 and i had the freezing issue for month. I tried different roms and the problem was always there. So i dont think its just a róm error.

Try stock, unrooted, no a2sd, no s-off, no mods at all. And cut the amount of crap apps you have installed I had 1100MB of apps installed on my old phone, now on my desire i have only 100MB of apps installed.

I've tried so many different roms, and yet this freezing issue seems to keep repeating itself. I've attached a logcat of the latest freeze. Can anyone make any sense of it?

Running ICS beta 0.10.1 currently.

I'm starting to think that it maybe an SDcard issue. Currently using Sandisk 16gb Class 4.

I have in my hands many Desire phones who have this problem with reboot or lockup All of them are with SLCD and most of them are grey. They just overheating too much compared to black ones with Amoled. Man in service told me that there is 2 or 3 different boards for Desire and 3 different displays. First series of desire are best one and they are all with Amoled displays and most of them are black.

Some models can`t even finish a flashing because they just reboot. To finish flashing put some cold metal under them from fridgerate sound stupid but that helps... Phone working stable until is cold, after that random reboots again
I bought mine from guy in UK with UK charger when they starting to selling there on beggining. I personally don`t have any single lock up since than, except one lockup when phone was on sun and charging + gps + wifi on and OC to ~1200 mhz at performance mode. Guess that was too much.
I`m running moded Oxygen version from Roalex COS 17.04.2012. (update-oxygen_cos-17042012.zip + update) Best ROM ever for desire if you ask me, with ext3 1 GB enabled and installed 241 aplications only some are system apps!!! Don`t move ANY app to SD !! and it`s not DATA2SD !!! Use Autorun Manager to disable all useless startup apps and you will have 200-240 RAM free after all that apps are installed. Got FB, viber, WhatsApp and some others apps running all time in background. And you don`t need ANY task killer or something similar.
I even try ICS 10.01 and that working very nice finally, no lockups or reboot in 2 days, just a little too much battery drain for now Waiting for some fixed release.
There is no real life, there is only AFK!

Well dont know about the logcat, but my advise would be to higher the UV levels in deamon tools (if your kernle supports UV) especially on he low cpu freqs. my UV settings starts with 248mhz is 975 mV and goes up till 1275 mV at 988 mhz. Try not to go over 988 with the Cpu freq as for a test and if there arent any freez go higher. I did the same and my seems working now for 5 days (fingers crossed )

Still no crashes for 3 days after changing the sd card. I think it did the trick, I'm so glad now it appears to be fixed.

Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium

I found a possible solution for the freezing from the sticky thread for troubleshooting your desire.

Dial *#*#4636#*#*

and set GSM only or CDMA only in settings. I'm currently using CDMA only, and stable so far. Haven't had any freezing. *fingers crossed*

coming from runnymede aio rom, with a samsung 16gb class 6 sd card.
tried changing from wcdma to gsm, tried putting a paper clip above the sim, tried changing UV values, no luck.
yesterday i changed rom, runny 6.1.1 and changed sd card as well, adata 8gb class 6.
reinstalled everything and guess what ? this morning phone froze again.
i think this phone sucks, last try would be changing radio but i still have to understand how to do it well, since i've read it could brick the phone (well, at this point wouldn't be so bad, i could throw it out of the window with no remorse).
if i change phone part i'll post the behaviour, cheers.

edit: i changed phone, from 5.11.05.27 to 5.14.05.17, i'll try a couple of days and see what happens.

People the problem is the battery. If i put my Nexus One battery (they are identical) in it, it has freezes and crashes etc. If i use the original battery, no problems. Try purchasing a new original htc battery.
