Either is fine. I'm just curious how much space on each total and I'll be able to see either way. If you want to do it now I can still see what I need to. I'm wondering if the no data limt makes a combined amount of space nearing 750MB. Do you have a lot of apps?

No, I don't see any part of the process that would. Are your apps and app data gone or just apps? Something may have gone wrong.

apps are there. but everything (including my wall paper) is off of my home screens. It's strange. no apps laid out, no widgets etc... also my setting for brightness and ringtones etc are gone.

Yeah, I do have a lot of apps. That probably screws things up.

without the update I get:
/data: 765992K total, 541768K used, 224224K available (block size 4096)
/data/data: 152576K total, 136884K used, 15692K available (block size 4096)

with the update:
/data: 765992K total, 676416K used, 89576K available (block size 4096)
/data/data: 765992K total, 676420K used, 89572K available (block size 4096)

So yeah, probably because I don't have enough space...

Likely one of two things happened:

1. The copy command failed to copy all your app data to the data partition and as a result your app data was still wiped as part of the script. This could happen for a number of reasons.

2. The copy command still succeeded but your /data/data partition is still mounting as the boot.img edit failed.

What is the result of your mount command?

Also if you nandroided back already you can try running the ext4all_no_data_limt_normal_dalvik.zip in a fresh recovery session.

That's about 87MB. That's still a good amount. Kind of weird. Not sure the criteria for low space. /sdcard and /emmc have sufficient right?

Also, /data/data shows the same results because it's the same partition after the mod (that is the partition doesn't mount so it gets stored on /data). So really the df /data/data isn't so useful after the no data limit is applied. I forgot that that would happen after the mod.

Yeah, SD has over a gig and so does EMMC. Going into settings it says almost 50MB free out of 750. Very strange.

maybe i'm flashing the wrong one. Even after flashing it, and having it reset all my settings, it still shows my phone's memory as almost full. Can someone please link me the correct file?

I'm running the latest cm9 a9 build with incredikernel beta 2 if that makes a difference.

This is the zip to use:

http://dinc.does-it.net/EXT4_Mods/Co...lvik_moved.zip

First try running the mount command from terminal after flashing it and confirm that /data/data is NOT on the list.

I wonder if this fix isn't compatible with this rom. I keep getting the same problem. Also, when I king press the power button, all. Get are the power off, screenshot and reboot options. But reboot doesn't give me additional options: like getting into recovery etc.
