First, you have to find proprietaries that will work. You might get it working from the Galaxy Note for GSM, and Droid Charge for CDMA.

Then, you have to understand that Gingerbread is hdpi, and therefore everything will be low quality, low resolution. Then, you have to find radios that will work with GB. I would not assume that ICS radios will work, although they may.

There is absolutely no soft key support in GB. Therefore you would have to code that in, and it would be a lot of work considering that ICS's menu layout is not compatible or even similar to GB.

Those are just some of the hurdles you would see.

I think it would be kind of cool if possible. Sure it’s more of a novelty idea but it would be kinda fun to remember how far Android has come.

There are a few things I prefer with GB, like you can change DNS server without required to change all the other stuff like gateway and subnet. Also it does not remember your VPN password, just username. Now if it can only remember both and require lockscreen pin.

Want gingerbread... install the Galaxy S 3 since it looks just like it
