Default Need unlocked code for T-Mobile version

My girlfriend just bought the HTC radar 4g on craigslist but her service is with at&t. If anyone has the unlocked code and could share it with me would be great.

If you are referring to a SIM unlock code, there is a unique code for every IMEI. From knowledge you will need to purchase one or find a friend with Tmobile and see if they can request you an unlock code

On eBay sir, they're about 4 dollars, and its a Code Based unlock based off the IMEI number. Don't always count on full functionality, as some bands are different.... But Phone calls and TXT should work perfect.

I had T-Mobile unlock mine. And I can tell you that the Radar works great on AT&T. My data speeds are between 4 - 6 mbps. Either HTC was kind of sneaky putting in the AT&T bands, or T-Mobile was less than forthcoming about the specs of the phone.

Neither is true. The 1900MHz UMTS support is declared right on the Radar's box.

True. And the information is out there - if you know where to look.

But notice the difference between the phone's specs on T-Mobile's website and on the HTC website.
  • The T-mobile site only admits that the 850/1900 GSM bands are there. The only UMTS bands they list are the 1700/2100 -Mobile AWS frequencies.
  • The HTC site reveals that 850/1900 is supported in both GSM and UMTS.

You will see this listed in almost all of the T-Mobile material and it was quoted that way in most reviews.

It's not a big deal - what does it matter to someone buying a phone from TMo? It's just interesting that they omit this little detail in their promotion.
