Default CM7 or CM9 ?

I've readed all this discution, and there is a people who has CM9 in their SGS2 i777, but it is still in nightly version, and I'm afraid to run that version in my new i777. Besides, a big problem that has Android for me is with the Ad Hoc networks, and I wonder if with CM9 I'll be able to connect my i777 to ad hoc networks like I used to do with my old Nokia C7.

As it is, I like the look/feel of the stock device (maybe I just don't know better) so I am thinking that using something more stable like CM7 would be more beneficial. Is there any major differences?
One has a 7 in it while the other has a 9

S9 looks like vanilla ICS with only the notification toggles, so its like AOKP/CM9 without any customization choices other than toggles.

Ahh, I didn't realize he went away from the "stock" feel. It was always his big thing with the GB version so I ignored V2

CM9 recently added ad-hoc network support in one of the recent nightlies. I haven't tested it personally, but it's there. Plus the nightlies have been super stable. I feel like it's actually more stable than the cm7 rc's even were. If you read and learn to do things right there is very little you can do to really screw your phone up.

I've been needing ad-hoc support for ages on CM9, but they've never showed up. Do you have any evidence that it's now present? I even checked the changelog and didn't see anything.

If you go to settings -> more in cm9, there are options to setup and configure Wifi-Direct mode. I believe this is how you configure ad-hoc networks.
