Also when I did this procedure after that time it did not ask me for the code again but I'm keeping it in a safe place just in case.
Thanks for clarifying, I have updated the tutorial warning.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll include a warning in the tutorial.
I see you added the warning in the tutorial, that was very prompt of you; thank you for that. It is a learning curve for all of us I think. Another issue I have found is with this section below:

[QUOTE]
2.3: I'm not sure if you have to do this for windows 32-bit, but with windows 64-bit you must navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers

2.4: Inside that folder you'll find "WinUSB Drivers x64.msi", install it.
[UNQUOTE]

For people like me, who have 32 bit systems, we would have to navigate to the same folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers, but the install file line would be "WinUSB Drivers x86.msi", which is the 32 bit version of the same file. The "WinUSB Drivers x64.msi" is incompatible with 32 bit computers.

Your tutorial is very detailed, and pretty accurate; this is just a slight variation for those of us using 32 bit systems.

Hello, I'm stuck again.

I am in section 4; the Linux commands, but I have a problem. I have used the superuser (su) command to raise the privilege level, and ran the ls /dev/ command with the phone disconnected and again with it connected. The sd output is the same with an sda1 folder and an sda2 folder. When I connect the phone using Qualcomm mode, there are no new folders; no new letters. For example, I would have expected it to find sdb, or sdc, or something like that, with the appropriate files within the section. No new drive letters are added, suggesting that the phone is not found or seen by Linux. I have repeated the process several times, by booting the phone into Qualcomm mode, but nothing changes. I have also rebooted the computer to try the process again from the beginning of the Linux section. What have I done wrong, and what can I do to put things right?

I've found out what the problem is with regard to the device not showing up in Linux. It transpires that the bootloader is still locked and displaying as DLOAD, which I discovered by connecting the phone to my partner's computer. I am going to start the whole process again and see what happens.

When I try to run the Nokia Care Suite 5.0 installer, I get the error,
Quote:
Error 2738.Could not access VBScript run time for custom action.
It then opens the installer where the only option is finish, and nothing having been installed. How do I fix it?

EDIT: Another HARD RESET required, but now BT audio works again.

Further investigations have led me to understand why my phone would not go into DLOAD. It transpires that the original Nokia firmware was blocking the Qualcomm from being installed. I could change roms, but the rom change didn't allow the DLOAD to be changed to a Qualcomm, for some reason. I found a generic UK rom in the firmware download list, installed that, which didn't of itself change the bootloader, but it did allow the bootloader to be changed quickly using NSS. I now have an unlocked Qualcomm bootloader, with a generic UK rom on the phone. I haven't yet installed a custom rom using Linux, but the process has worked so far, albeit with tweaks in various places.
