I wonder if this fix isn't compatible with this rom. I keep getting the same problem. Also, when I king press the power button, all. Get are the power off, screenshot and reboot options. But reboot doesn't give me additional options: like getting into recovery etc.

Did you run mount like I asked? That is the best way for me to tell if it works. You should have several results with ext4 and also /data/data would not show up if its working.

It's actually described in the original ext4all mod thread but you install a terminal emulator app if you don't have one and type the command mount.
Look for two lines in particular, one should have /data and ext3 or ext4. The second line would have /data/data and yaffs2 or auto in it. If /data is ext3 and /data/data is there (presuming you applied the no data limit one) the mod probably didn't apply correctly and I'd need to look into editing the mod or making one compatible with your ics ROM. Did you have a problem with gingerbread or CM7 or which rom are you running?

first off, thanks! I wiped, reflashed my rom, reflashed gapps, refashed the ext4 mod, then the kernel and it works now. i looked in terminal emulator and didn't see what you described. looked in "apps" in my system settings and i have all the space i need for apps now. thanks again!
EDIT:
---------------------
Actually, i don't think i'm destined to have this. the moment i install my apps again, the internal storage space drop back to about 297mb. I don't get it, i give up.
I used Unrevoked and installed ClockworkMod, but got the following message when it was done:
Code:
clockworkmod revovery v5.0.2.0 (other stuff...)
wating for sd card to mount (other stuff...)
sd card mounded...
verifying sd card marker...
sd card marker not found...
checking internal sd card marker...
error verifying extendedcommand.
error processing rom manager scipt. please verify that you have ROM manager v.4.4.0.0. or higher installed
/tmp/recovery.log was copied to /sdcard/clockworkmod/recovery.log Please open ROM manager to report the issue.
Per the instructions, I rebooted and now I'm stuck in a boot loop with the HTC Incredible screen. I can get to the ClockworkMod recovery screen, but I wanted to make sure I take the right action before proceeding. I saw before that someone recommended flashing a backup ROM, but I haven't made a back-up ROM yet (it's the next step in the instructions). If I make a back-up now and try to recover from that, won't it just throw me back into a boot loop?
The other recommendation was to flash from a "fresh" ROM; what's the recommended ROM to flash from and will I lose my data in the process?

HTC Incredible
Android 2.3.4
go to recover and select "backup", it'll backup everything on your phone to your SD card, hopefully you can recover some stuff, you wont be able to get it back to the state you had it tho. You can install any ROM for the Incredible, you have to decide. I'm only familiar with CM9 on the incredible, but it works great if you want an ICS rom
I'm trying to root my phone to get rid of the "Low Disk Space" but I'm stuck on step 8.
Quote:
If it says 2.3.4, do this:
Download Clockwork 5.0.2.0:
Extract the recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-inc.img from the zip file and put it somewhere you'll remember.
Download Unrevoked 3.22 (this is intentionally NOT the latest version):
Run 322_reflash_package.exe
Inside the program, go to File -> Custom Recovery and select the .img file from above. At the bottom of the program window, it should now say "Recovery: Custom" and "Waiting for device" Plug in your phone and wait while Unrevoked runs automatically. It will reboot your phone several times and will take some time, so be patient!
Once it's done, unplug your phone and ensure that a "Superuser Permissions" application is inside your app drawer. Don't run it. Instead, go to Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> All, scroll down to "Superuser Permissions", click it, then click "Clear data". Return back Home.
I get to the underlined step and nothing happens, at all. I verified that I'm using version 3.22. What state should the phone be in? Just "on" or at the bootloader prompt? It would seem that I should just have the phone on, but nothing happens, the "unrevoked" program just sits there.
Not sure what information you need to help me out so ask away and I'll get it for you.
Thanks

It should just be on. Do you have the phone drivers installed on your pc? Can you access the phone thru ADB? Under device manager on your pc when the phone is plugged in to it, is there an android phone category and when expanded an android bootloader interface entry?
