Replace the existing music app with this one: http://uploading.com/mobile/get/1emfee8d (English MIUI music player 3)

Then either replace your copy of Root Explorer, or try to delete the Chinese music app (delete = 删除) and replace it with the one I linked you to (copy = 复制 , permissions = 权限).

Default wifi fix

Am taking the boot.img and modules folder from cm7.2 rc3, no more wifi issues (at least for me). Everything else still working, still smooth..

How do you do this? Download the CM7 ROM, extract it and copy the files to a working MIUI installation? Or? (In other words, can you write a quick tutorial or provide an update.zip?)

No need to extract anything.. open miui zip and cm7 rc3 zip, drag and drop the boot.img from cm7 to miui zip file to replace it. Go to lib, then modules folder, theres 3 files in the folder. Do the same here, drag and drop the files from cm7 zip files. I do it from ubuntu, i believe u need to use 7zip, winrar or other archive app in windows to do so.
Once done, put inside ur sd card. Then reboot to recovery (cwm). Do backup 1st. Then install the file. Once finish, boot as usual and see if it works for you. If it works, then u can go into cwm again and restore data, cache and sd-ext (if u use app2sd) from advance restore.. dont restore boot and system.
I dont have decent net here, will try to upload it from my workplace when i start working later..

Updated my older .zip file. Everything (including root explorer) should be translated now, and the Wifi should be fixed. Thanks for that tip feed3!!
Also, I have included the Gingerbread keyboard in this ROM. This rom does NOT format the Data partition anymore, so you can update your old ROM without the need of losing everything.

Download: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1424119/coff...RC0_app2sd.zip
Google Apps: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
MD5: 37cf90ef6ac595109f26faacb2fdc1aa

Changes:
  • Fixed/Changed: /Data/ partition is preserved, you can just flash this ROM over your old MIUI rom.
  • Fixed: English Root explorer instead of Chinese one
  • Fixed: English MIUI Music app instead of Chinese one
  • Fixed: Wifi rebooting issues

I have personally flashed this ROM and it's working fine.

NOTE1: The first time you'll start this ROM, it will be in chinese. Just follow these instructions to set it to english:

NOTE2: I did not make this ROM. All credit goes to the maker of this ROM (Cofface) and to the people that translated the .APK's (feed3)

NOTE3: Just in case you removed the chinese keyboard (I thought it was some sort of app I wouldn't need), here is an APK to get it back: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875202
