Hi...just one or two questions...

am fed up with waiting for them to push the update...so I am also thinking of updating to android revolution ROM...from what I have read and understood is below.

1. Gain s off with revolutionary
2. Install clock world recovery
3. Flash firmware of android
4. Flash the Rom

Is that it or I am missing some steps in between ? Please guide...I read somewhere that superwipe etc is required...

It would be really helpful if someone can please please provide a checklist in the above format...

Thanks in advance

U missed the whole rooting part.....
Just follow this thread, upto step 3 for s-off, rooting, and installing recovery..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1192300

Then go to ARHD thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1098849
then, download the ICS firmware and superwipe script and the latest ARHD Rom that u need and move to the root of ur sd card... Then go to recovery, flash firmware, then flash superwipe script(deletes everything from ur phone, not sd card), then flash ARHD Rom.....thatz it.. u r done..

Hope, I helped u.... anythin else, feel free to ask...

Nope, superuser comes inside the ARHD Rom, so dont worry abt that.... No, it wont ask, which carrier r u in, If it asks "R u t-mobile user" just press no....
We dont need Super CID, its only for carrier branded mobiles like t-mobile...

Press thanks if i hav helpd u.....

Hi...

sorry for disturbing again .... Currently I have got Hboot 1.18 which can be s-offed using revolutionary. From whatever I have read that ICS would change the hboot to 1.27 which is cubersome to soff. So i just wanted to confirm two things.

1. Will going s-off now stop me from receiving OTA ICS whenever that comes ?

2. If not then once I receive and apply OTA ICS it would change my hboot to 1.27 but will I still remain soff ?

Thanks again

1.no..with SOFF ..you can still recieve OTA update
the OTA update depends on three things..CID should match , stock recovery and unrooted stock ROM
2.YES..SOFF remains intact even after OTA

Device Details: HTC sensation 4G, Inspiration Rom + default bricked kernel

I failed at the very first simple step of achieving S-Off for my 1.18.0000 HBOOT stock unbranded India phone

1.) Got revolutionary and the beta key.
2.) Plugged in the phone in Sync mode (with HTC sync uninstalled in PC) with the phone on normal home screen. USB debugging enabled. HTC driver 3.0.0.021. Android 2.3.4
3.) Opened revolutionary and it promptly found the device.
4.) Fed the Beta Key which gets accepted. Tells me to wait "Zerging Root".
5.) Then just one line. Failed to get Root and tells to exit

Where did i go wrong

Edit : Is it got to do with the previous OTA update which we applied ??? Read in the several posts that it patched the loophole which revolutionary had exploited.
