Hi all.

Just flashed after being on AuraTSense (I think) for the last year or so as the phone was clogged up and slow. Anyway this ROM seems great and fast but I can't connect to my home WiFi when I have no issues with other devices?

My home WiFI is WPA2-PSK[AES] with a WPA2-PSK[AES] passphrase but I try to connect and it looks like it will then just disconnects :( WiFi Channel is 11 if that might be an issue?

I cleared all caches etc before flashing (including the dalvik out of habit!) and just upgraded to the latest 5.17.05.23 radio as well as my old one was a bit old but still same issue. Any more ideas guys?

EDIT: Restarted my router after manually clearing all the DCHP leases etc and that finally sorted it. Strange!

i think that actualy the phone is automatically set on minimum CPU when the screen is off so what you did here is useless ? (except for lowering the maximum CPU)

maybe we can log this somehow to prove it ?

edit: i have already tested and i can confirm that what you did there is useless
by default when the screen is off the CPU clock is 245 (non modified Thalamus kernel)
not sure if you use the stock modified kernel though

p.s is there anyway we can go lower than 245MHZ ? when the screen is off , for example 128mhz , and are we going to get some more juice with it ?
but that requires some skills isnt it
Going to 128mhz needs to compile the kernel with this feature (not completely sure) But it won't give you anything noticeable but lags when waking the phone; and usually 128 uses the same mV as 245 so it makes nothing for battery life

if you changed kernel to stock thalamus, this is probably the reason why your fm radio doesn't work anymore.

with regards to CPU settings, you're right, just leaving it will default to 245 screen off. i just use the inbuilt cpu settings rather than SetCPU.

i think i read somewhere that lowering it further to 128MHz really doesn't gain that much, but can make it slow to wake up. i could be wrong, would require another kernel modification though

Can anyone advise how I copy these customisations (icon sets etc ) across to v4.0 ?
I don't have the original files and they weren’t from UOT.

Thanks
it's a bit tricky, as i don't think you can just copy your systemUI and framework.res across into the v4.0 zip, i think there are other changes which are incompatible.

you don't have the original files, but you can extract them from your current rom. copy systemUI from system/app and framework-res from system/framework to your sd card (assuming you're s-off this is easy), then move and extract them onto your PC using something like 7zip

you can find all your image files within res/drawable-hdpi.

then it's a case of manually copying these files into the v4.0 equivalent files. again use 7zip to drag and drop everything, don't extract any files as this complicates things. also don't rename anything, as i think the filenames need to match up exactly.

a bit of a hassle, but i know how obsessive we can be about icons...i confess myself am included in this

definitely nandroid backup before you try any of this! i ended up with no status bar one time i tried to replace the notification power widget icons manually

Question Another "No sim"....

Right time for the first problem of my own ever:

I've been using Oxygen for about a year. A few days ago, I decided to try something different, so I installed a few different mods to try them out. I liked this one, but was bugged by the fact that all my settings were the same as before, so I wanted to wipe everything.
So I did. The SD card was cleared, all partitions were deleted with MiniTool Partition Wizard (and only one, Fat32, was created), and noob me cleared everything possible. Data/factory reset, Cache Partition, System, Dalvik, Battery (whatever I could find in Recovery, really).
Guess what? I obviously screwed something up. It won't recognize the Sim anymore, so I updated the Radio. First 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23 then 5.09.05.30_2. I've checked phone settings - it has updated the Radio already, but no change?

Any golden words? I do NOT have money for a new phone!
Thanks in advance

i have contacted Thalamus and he told me that he didnt touch the code for the FM radio so it should work

Adam just removed it from the framework probably

as far as for the lower frequency it need kernel modification
maybe with smartass it wont lag at 125mhz when screen wakes up ?

Hi guys I am going to try out this ROM for the first time and I have a couple of questions:

- how can I install it? the classic way buy copying the zip into the sd card and flash with CWM?

- what are the performances of this ROM? what about the battery life?

- is there an ICS's based ROM coming out within the next weeks?

thanks

- Do a nandroid backup of your current ROM 1st, then full wipe, then install

- all very subjective. You have to compare to your individual usage. We think it's pretty good though

- not from mildwild, he stopped developing an ics ROM due to instability

Other things to note:
- cm7r2 hboot recommended
- ext4 partition created with gparted or 4ext recovery
- read the 1st post to enable sd-ext

Don't worry, in worst case I hope you have money for a new SIM
Have you modified something in the zip before flashing? What hboot do you have? I think the problem is caused by a bad flashing process or your SIM is broken.
You could also have a look at build.prop , but I don't think there's anything wrong in it if nobody else has reported the same problem as you.

Thanks for replying

I haven't changed the zip. My hboot is 0.80.0000 .
The ROM worked for me before I wiped all I could and formatted the SD-card.

I am also on HBOOT 0.80.0000 and everything seems to working for me on this rom however am I right in thinking I am missing out on some of the newer things by not having a later HBOOT version and my device not being S-OFF?

I have tried going down the root of placing a a PB99IMG.zip file in the root of my SD Card to update my HBOOT but no matter which I choose e.g. PB99IMG_oxygenr2 or PB99IMG_cm7r2 renamed as PB99IMG.zip I don't get the option to overwrite or anything. The fastboot loooks at the file as it says Checking.... Then it just goes back around to the FASTBOOT option???

Any help much appreciate!
Andy
