Someone asked me the best possible settings for gaming

There is a reason why iPhones and consoles have very limited multitasking, multitasking will always share performance, CM9 runs better since its much less bloated but start downloading app, widgets and soon it will perform as bad as Sense in games

So the best recipe for THD gaming:

- Reduce as much bloat as you can on your own like needless apps & widgets etc
- Use supercharger HardToKill patch
- Enable supercharger Misc options
- Using supercharger select the most aggressive minfrees, 1000HP option 9 or 8, this will kill 90% of background processes at the cost of multitasking, you can always change the minfress on the fly or add script manager widgets
- Set the governor to interactive before you play
- For extra boost use Franco R8 kernel (use ondemand gov)

say good bye to gaming stutter, this will give you very similar performance to gaming on clean empty Cyanogen ROM

say good bye to heat, believe me when i say one of the main reasons of the heat on this device is background processes, you have a quad busy with all sort of stuff, reducing multi-tasking will reduce the quad usage

Its easy to see why HTC went with the so called "aggressive multitasking values"

hamdir, if we go with option 9 and interactive as the governor... will we avoid from those high tempertures on the overall (like a tango call - my HoX temperature rises up to 70-72 degrees) or just THD games...

And what will we loose with this? one more thing although they say on Franco's thread changing governers like to conservative makes sudden reboots, I don't have any isseu like this with system tuner... and i think i have a little bit more battery life... what will happen if I choose conservative instead of ondemand or conservative? (sorry if I go little bit out of the topic in some of my questions)

you will loose most multitasking with option 9 this tip is great for gaming mostly, for example app tegrastats will stop working properly since the minfrees will keep closing it

conservative governor is amazing for both battery and heat, but the device will get considerably slower

so if you care most about battery and heat, go with conservative but don't kill multitasking with option 9, choose the more balanced ones like option 7, but again you are greatly slowing down the One X with this governor

Hi any chance this mod could be made into an installable apk for non rooted phones? I mean people rip the stock launcher and upload it to the market with some slight modifications, why wouldn't that work with sense, given that the framework is already there?

Why would providing an installable, modified, additional sense apk be any more illegal than the current zip file? I think it would be a great thing if mods concentrated on improvements that can be made without root given given that the hox community is pretty much dead in the water with most folks still on locked phones for now. I know non-root limits your options, but a modified installable launcher, camera app etc could still help bring this community to life. Just one guy's opinion ;)
